Summer Camp 2012

Date: 3rd Sep 2012 Author: Scout Websites

19 Scouts and 2 Young Leaders, plus leaders and children of leaders camped at Broadstone Warren, near East Grinstead.

Activities included archery, climbing, abseiling, zip-wire, pedal carts, human table football……plus the usual hiking, bivvying, cooking (gas and open fire), camp-fire, games.

The weather was good until the last 24 hours when it rained constantly, so we brought home a lot of wet tents. However this didn’t deter several Scouts from electing to sleep in their self -made bivvy for a second night – confident that their constructions would keep the rain and wind out (which, by and large, they did).

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
