Senior Citizens Party 2014

Date: 7th Dec 2014 Author: Scout Websites

We would like to thank all those who turned up to this years SCP, including our guests, the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Leaders. The helpers for setting up, in the kitchens and clearing up after the event. The lighting and sound crew, Terry Hamer our compere, Anton Smith (Paramedic) and to Jane McKinnnon Dance Group. Unfortunately due to other events on the same day the number of guests was less than that of last year.

The Beavers opened the show with some singing supported by the Explorers and a couple of Scouts.

The Cubs then sang songs from the Jungle Book.

On behalf of our District Commissioner who was unable to attend Tony Moles (ADC Beavers) invested Explorer Leader Terry Elliot of the Draco Explorer unit run at 21st HQ and Tina Elliot our Scout Leader invested Jess into Scouting at 21st Romsey.

The Scouts performed a pantomime of Treasure Island, this was written by Bob Heather and Cheryl Barrett who kindly allowed us to use the script which was provided via Cameron. Unfortunately due to the time restraints on the day we had to miss out a few elements of the script. The Scouts only had 3 evenings to choose roles and then rehearse for the pantomime before the live performance. The props were also all made by the scouts.

If anyone would like to see the pantomime we did record it and you can request a link to it via the contact us page on this website. (Please note this is only available to people linked to the Scout Group)

To close Jane McKinnon Dance Group performed a variety of dance routines.
