District Cubs Chess Competition 2013

Two Cubs represented the Group at the District Chess Competition which was held at the Dr Peter Centre in Romsey. There were two age groups – under 9 ½ and over 9 ½ . The Cubs played several games in a round robin competition with the Cub winning the most games going forward to represent the District at the County competition. There were several very close games including one resulting in stalemate (where one person is not in check but is unable to move without being in check). All the Cubs played well and enjoyed themselves. All participants received a certificate for taking part. The winners finally came from 10th Mohicans and we want to wish them well in the County event .
