Date: 27th Apr 2014 Author: Scout Websites

There was a good turn out from all groups for this years St Georges Day Parade. Thanks to all who attended and the parents for bringing their children. Although there were showers during the day, the parade managed to complete without anyone getting wet.

This year is the 100 year anniversary of the Brownies and this formed part of the service. All groups retook their promises and there were a couple of presentations. Tony Moles (aka Scary Baloo) received his Award for Merit. John Stevens received his sliver acorn as did Peter Betteridge.

A collection was made for Romsey Young Carers and £500 was raised.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
