Portsmouth Shooting Competition 2018

Representing 21st Romsey Rifle Club, Lauren and Matthew Batchelor competed last weekend at the Portsmouth Scout Shooting Club Competition. There were 40 entries in total in 3 categories Class A – Scouts, Class B – Explorers and Class C – Leaders.

It was a good event hosted by Craig and Lorna Knights.

The results were close with Lauren just topping the Explorer Leaderboard with 90 point closely followed by Ella Fletcher 88 points and James Baxter 87 points both of whom also train at 21st Romsey Rifle Club.

In the Scouts Class Matthew picked up 2nd place (79 [31]) 1st place which was picked up by Rebecca (80) from 70th Portsmouth and securing this position on his tie break card ahead of Harry (79 [28]) of 4th Netley Scout Harris and Paige (77) from 23rd Portsmouth.

Well done to all the competitors.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
