Romsey District Scout Confined competition is open to all Scouting members in Romsey district from Scouts, Explorers and Leaders/Volunteers with a Scout association member number. it is a mixed event and medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category being Scouts, Explorers and Leaders. There is also a Team trophy which will go to the top scoring team of 3 made up of a mix of 2 Scouts or Explorers or one of each and 1 Leader.

The Open competition is open to anyone scouting or non scouting aged 10 1/2 upwards. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for ages 10 1/2 – 14, 14-18 and Over 18’s.

All Rifles (Precharged), ammunition and targets will be provided. Only provided equipment may be used. Competition will be run to NSRA Sporter air rifle rules at 6yds.All entrants MUST have shot air rifle before and be able to hit the 17x17cm target area at 6yds.

Please remember to comply with the Sporter Rules, elements that people often forget is that you MUST wear loose fitting clothing (No leggings/jeggings etc),Jeans are permitted in Sporter but must be loose fitting. Shoes must NOT support the ankle (e.g. No boots). Strictly NO CAMMO clothing can be worn. There is no requirement to wear Scout uniform at the competition however you may be required to by your group. Shooting Gloves are permitted.

Please ensure you arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of your detailed start time in order to sign in and complete any admin. The detail time is the planned start of your specific detail. A short briefing will be given 5 minutes prior to your start time. Each athlete will have a maximum of 25 minutes to shoot 5 sighters and 20 match shots to count. All scores will be collated after the event and posted on this website. All medals will be sent out/presented after the event.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
